Join us for a beginner-friendly birdwatching walk, open to all ages! This walk is designed for those new to birdwatching, and no special equipment is required to participate. However, space is limited to 10 participants, and registration is required through the store. Please register each attendee individually, as we cannot accommodate additional, unregistered guests. To ensure a comfortable experience for all, we kindly ask that dogs not be brought on the walk.

During this guided walk, participants will learn the basics of birdwatching, including how to find and identify birds. Topics may cover the use of optics, where to look and listen for birds, and birding etiquette. You’ll also have the chance to observe common migratory and resident birds of Colorado in different habitats. There is no cost for joining this walk.

Participants must follow local, state, and federal laws to maintain a welcoming environment for both park users and wildlife. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and dressing in layers for the weather. Optional gear includes binoculars (recommended but not required), a camera, field guide, journal and pen, a small backpack, and a water bottle. Expect to be active for about an hour, covering up to a mile at a pace that ensures the group stays together. The guide will not provide gear but will share field guides when possible.
